Each year on Labor Day weekend, the Hilton in Parsippany plays host to what is billed at the world’s largest 50s party. The annual event is known as Lead East. The Hilton parking lots are filled for three days with 1,400 classic cars. Classic is defined in this case as cars from before 1972. In addition to the cars, there are doo-wop groups, rockabilly bands, and drive-in movies.
This beautiful 1955 Chevy is just one great example of some of the cars that can be seen at Lead East. If you’ve never been, mark your calendars for Labor Day weekend next year. If you have been to the show, you’ll want to go back again. It’s surely one of the most interesting and entertaining annual events that NJ has to offer.
